Families are being encouraged to ice skate together as an offer has been extended to include older children.

The offer, available at the Royal Pavilion Ice Rink, allows families of four to skate for a reduced price.

Having previously only included children up to the age of 12, the deal has now been extended to allow children up to the age of 16 to be included.

Sheila Parkin, managing director of rink organisers Laine Ltd, said: “We recognize it’s a tough time for families, which is why we have decided to extend our family discount to include all school age children.

“We want people to be able to have a Christmas moment together on the ice that includes the whole family – not just children under 12.”

Families of four can skate for £9 per person at the ice rink in off-peak times on weekdays between 10am and 5pm and for £11 at all other times.
