Like many other people who have enjoyed the liveliness, exuberance and sheer fun of the Kemp Town Carnival, we are sorry it's been cancelled this year. It's a great loss to the community and we hope it will return bigger and better next year.

The Friends of Queen's Park - a comparatively new group and a much smaller organisation - benefited last year from the help, advice and overall support given to us by the carnival organisers in running our Sunday In The Park event which followed on from the carnival.

Thanks to their support, our day was a great success and we hope to repeat it this year.

On Sunday, June 22, we have a second Sunday In The Park, with children's entertainments, a dog show, picnic in the park, climbing wall, bouncy castle courtesy of The Argus, music, French market and much more.

We want to say, thank you to the Kemp Town Carnival organisers for all their hard work and we hope we can work together next year to ensure this family festival continues to be an important part of the Kemp Town scene.
