Eastbourne Eagles have signed Tomas Suchanek on loan for the rest of the season.

The 24-year-old Czech will act as No. 8 in place of Brent Werner.

Suchanek will continue to ride in the Premier League for Reading, where he has an average of 5.64 points per four races this season, including bonuses.

Meanwhile four Eagles riders have, as expected, been named in the initial 12-man Great Britain squad for this year's World Cup.

Skipper Scott Nicholls is joined by Lee Richardson, Edward Kennett and Lewis Bridger.

The draw for the World Under-21 Championship semi-finals has sent Bridger and Eagles colleague Simon Gustafsson to Rye House on Sunday, June 15.

They face tough opposition, notably from Tai Woffinden, Troy Batchelor and Chris Holder.

The other semi is taking place in Croatia.
