A family is dressing up as elves to raise money for charity.

Larissa Hart, a mum from Brighton, is dressing up as an elf alongside her five-year-old daughter Harleigh and three-year-old son Greyson.

Larissa said: “We participated in Elf Day last year and are doing so again today.

“My daughter is going to school as an elf, my son to nursery while my partner and I are travelling into the city dressed up as elves.

“Going to the city in costume helps sparks conversation with people and last year, led to us receiving donations on the bus.”

Larissa’s grandmother had dementia and died in 2019.

“It is such as dreadful disease because you grieve twice – once when they are diagnosed and again when they pass. My grandmother lived with dementia for three years and it is very tough for relatives who need to provide care,” said Larissa.

“Elf Day is fantastic as it allows our children to be involved, and I hope seeing us jingling around town helps spread joy to others at this time of year.”
