A man who “abandoned” an upturned car has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
Police received a report of an overturned car in Lashmar Road, East Preston at around 9.30pm yesterday.
The driver was reported to have abandoned the BMW and made off from the scene on foot.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Officers carried out a search of the area and found a man matching his description nearby.”
A 31-year-old man from Littlehampton was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving. He remains in police custody at this time.
The vehicle was later recovered.
