A car has crashed near a popular city pub.
The vehicle crashed into a lamppost outside The Hobgoblin in London Road, Brighton.
Firefighters are on the scene and a cordon is up around the pub.
Police have arrived at the scene.
An eyewitness said pub staff looked unhappy about the cordon in front of the shop ahead of the World Cup screening later.
At around 6pm, an eyewitness said it seemed the lamppost had been cut in half by emergency services.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "Police were called to a single-vehicle collision in York Place, Brighton, at 4pm on Sunday, December 4.
"No injuries were reported."
