A teenager who died after being involved in a motorbike crash on the A27 will be remembered with a park bench.

Family are paying tribute to India Buchanan, 17, with a fundraiser to buy a memorial bench.

India was the pillion passenger on a motorcycle when it crashed.

She died on Monday, November 21, three days after the accident and a week after her 17th birthday.

A 25-year-old man, who was riding the bike, suffered serious injuries.

The fundraiser, set up by India’s mum Amanda Buchanan-Hills, has already raised £760 since it was launched yesterday.

The money raised will be used to install a bench in her memory in Woodlands Park, Rustington.

Writing on Gofundme, Amanda said: “I took India to Woodlands Park from her baby days onwards.

“It holds so so many happy memories for her as a child and us as a family.”

India’s father died when she was five years old, but Amanda said she still remembers him pushing her on the swings in the park.

“She went there in teenage years to sit with friends and just chat,” said Amanda.

“It's the perfect place for me and her siblings and friends to go sit and reflect on all those memories.”

A tribute page has also been set up and family and friends have written heartfelt messages on the site.

Lee Hills, India’s step-dad, wrote: “Miss you every day my little bubba.”

India’s aunt Sam Byrne, from Worthing, has also created a fundraiser for her funeral.

She wrote: “This is something I never thought I’dd ever have to do. Prepare to say a final good night to my beautiful niece India.”

“As a family this has destroyed and ripped us all apart.

“She didn't even get to live her life into adulthood, it is beyond cruel, a branch of our family tree snapped off with no warning or explanation.”

So far, £225 of the £500 target has been raised.

Last week, India’s schoolfriends released balloons and played music in Angmering Bowl skatepark to commemorate her.
