Police had to attend a car park after things became “heated” as security services moved people living in caravans from the site after a nine-month battle.

Brighton and Hove City Council confirmed it had obtained a possession order to “move on” six people living in vans in the car park at Lynchet Close, which is near Hollingdean Park.

Sussex Security Service attended the site yesterday morning to clear the site of the caravans.

When team members arrived, two men came out of the caravans and left.

But police had to attend the scene later that afternoon.

A Sussex Security Service staff member said things became “heated”.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Police attended Lynchet Close, Brighton, at about 3.45pm on December 6 where a High Court warrant was being carried out. The High Court writ was executed at about 5.20pm.”

Sussex Security Services said the caravans will be put into storage.

The caravan owners will have seven days to reclaim the trailers.
