A shop landlord has complained after a brick was thrown through his window causing nearly £4,000 damage.

Turners Hill Upholstery said it was the second time the shop has been attacked. The glass was smashed and, after it was repaired, the team was shocked to find the window broken for a second time.

Dennis Molloy, landlord of the premises in London Road in Burgess Hill, also found the window of a van linked to the business shattered. He believes the damage is down to the same person.

Mr Molloy, 91, said: “Two weeks ago we had the front window of the shop smashed in. I have no idea who is doing it.

“Then after we got it repaired it was done again. It was done with a house brick.”

Mr Molloy said the cost of repairs has been just under £4,000 each time the window was smashed.

The owner of the shop, who wished to remain anonymous, said the cost has put a “massive financial burden” on the company.

Sussex Police have been approached for comment.
