An electrician has captured the amazing moment a waterfall appeared to start flowing upwards as gale force winds batter the south coast.

Kevin Pope, from Saltdean said it was "hard to stand up" when he shot a dramatic video of the "reverse waterfall" near Peacehaven.

Kevin travelled to Peacehaven to see the effect of the large waves on the bottom of the cliff near Friars' Bay, however his attention quickly shifted to the waterfall, which he found "more fascinating".

As gusty winds reached almost 38 miles per hour at Friars' Bay, Peacehaven, at around 3.30pm yesterday afternoon, the video shows water blowing back onto land.

Situated just behind the waterfall is Rushey Bay Holiday Park, where 200 static caravans are situated atop the cliff.

Kevin said: "All of those caravans will not only get really wet because of the rain, but also a double whammy from the waterfall."
