A few Sussex villages have been named among the "most desirable" to live in in the UK, according to The Telegraph.

The paper selected 54 locations from across Britain, in conjunction with research from Savills, that were deemed “most desirable” in terms of costs and the lifestyle they offer.

This included Kingston and the "triangle" of villages in Lurgashall, Lodsworth and Lickford.

More than half of the estate agents working for Savills across the country reported a rise in demand in the most desirable countryside locations, with 57 per cent saying they were unable to buy where they wanted.

Frances Clacy, analyst at Savills, told The Telegraph: “People want villages that have a bit of everything, from schools to stunning countryside, with accessibility to cities and transport infrastructure. Less well-trumpeted factors count too, such as the main road through the village should only lead to other villages.”

The full list of 54 villages on the list can be seen on The Telegraph page here.

Kingston

Kingston was praised for its "green community" and its location being just one mile away from the South Downs Way.

Its local calendar is filled up with things like yoga classes, bridge nights and whiskey tastings meaning you'll have a variety of things to try out.

Lurgashall, Lodsworth and Lickford

These three West Sussex villages are grouped together in the list due to their proximity.

They typify "all that is lovely about British country life" and are "spoilt for choice" in terms of pubs and restaurants.

Additionally, they are all found within the South Downs National Park so are great for nearby beauty spots.

The average house price there is £1,055,250.
