A charity has teamed up with much-loved children’s characters to encourage people to donate their unwanted Christmas presents.
Age UK is collaborating with The Wombles throughout 2023 to celebrate their 50th anniversary.
According to the charity, The Wombles “champion sustainability” which is why they have teamed up.
Great Uncle Bulgaria, the oldest and wisest Womble, said: “We all have a part to play in looking after our environment and each other, which is why we have teamed up with Age UK.”
“It can be difficult to know what to do with gifts that you don’t want, so we are calling on residents to donate any unwanted presents to us,” said Joanna Czerniawska, manager at the Age UK store in London Road, Brighton.
“Not only will you be helping to reduce waste, but you will be helping to raise much-needed funds so that Age UK can support older people most in need.”
