An animal shelter has launched a competition to find out which owners look most like their pets.

Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare, based near Lewes, announced that they were launching the Do You Look Like Your Pet? contest as a light-hearted way of raising awareness for their work.

The contest, which runs throughout January, will see pet owners taking pictures of themselves with their animals to see whether there is any resemblance between the pair.

The best photographs, judged by comedian Zoe Lyons, will be featured on the centre’s social media pages and will receive a personalised portrait of their pet.

To enter the competition, pet owners must take a photo with their lookalike pet and post the image to Facebook or Instagram, tagging the centre and using the hashtag #LookALikeCompetition.

Entries for the competition close on February 7.
