The Porsche driver who died in a crash on the A27 was a 31-year-old man, police say.
He was fatally injured when his car smashed into a parked police car which was assisting another vehicle.
The collision happened on Monday evening between Fontwell and Arundel and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
There was a major emergency services response and the road was closed in both directions for hours.
The police car was dealing with a single-vehicle collision on the eastbound carriageway of the A27 when the white Porsche crashed into it.
It was one of many accidents across the county on Monday night and Tuesday morning as icy conditions led to treacherous road conditions.
Police are still appealing for witnesses about the A27 crash and urge anyone with information or dashcam footage to email it to collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk quoting Operation Burley.
