The A26 is closed for the third day in a row.
The A26 remains closed both ways between the A27 at Beddingham and the A259 at Newhaven due to flood water on the road surface.
Traffic is currently being diverted via local roads.
A spokesman from National Highways said: “Freezing temperatures have delayed the process however we're working hard to clear the road.
“National Highways contractors are on scene however ground water is running onto the road from the surrounding area causing issues with the road surface due to the freezing temperatures.”
