The pair were spotted alongside a small camera crew on the beach between Shelter Hall and the carousel.

Niamh and Ruby play Juliet Nightingale and Peri Lomax in the soap, which has been running since 1995.

Both characters joined the show in 2018 and are currently in a romantic relationship.

Last year the character of Juliet was diagnosed with cancer.

It is understood that the pair are filming for a special episode based in the city.

Hollyoaks producer Lucy Allan told The Metro: "We are off to Brighton to film a special episode for Juliet and Peri.

"We really wanted to see the joy of those two as a couple. We know they are massive fan favourites, people love them together.

"The Brighton shoot is going to be great."
