One of Brighton Marina’s largest yachts has been sold and is set to leave the area.

The Astor, said to be the largest power boat in the Marina, was recently put up for sale and has now been bought.

The boat, a Vitech 90 type dating back to 1993, has been in the Marina for over a decade in the same area but will now leave to be refurbished.

Tim Kingston, a broker at Boatshed Yacht Brokers, said: “This is the boat that everyone wanders past and exclaims ‘I want THAT one!’”

“Her sale involved reaching out globally and finding the right person, who wants to return her to her former glory - this involved much assistance by the broker in assessing engine and powertrain condition, to ensure that the purchaser was completely happy and knew exactly what he was purchasing before he bought her.”

Photographs of the boat’s interior show two double beds and a large living room area with sofas and a table.

The exterior of the boat includes a covered deck area with chairs and sliding doors into the interior of the boat.

Price estimates for Vitech 90 boats online range from just below £100,000 to a £450,000 vessel on sale in Spain.
