A road leading on to the A27 is closed following a crash.
The incident happened in Falmer Road between the A27 and Norton Drive, Woodingdean, this evening at around 6.30pm.
There are queues stretching to the traffic lights in Woodingdean and the mini-roundabout on the B2123 near Falmer.
One person who was stuck in traffic said queues were "past the roundabout" and could see an ambulance at the scene.
It is unclear how many vehicles are involved and the extent of injuries currently.
Another person said the road is shut from the traffic lights near the Amex.
Sussex Police have been approached for comment.
