Two teenagers have been arrested after a video showing a brutal attack on a schoolboy was sent to The Argus offices in the post.

The video shows the boy being told to “get on your knees and say you're sorry”, before being viciously kicked and punched.

The shocking footage, stored on a memory stick that arrived in a sealed envelope, was passed on to Sussex Police.

Police have now confirmed that two 15-year-old boys have been arrested in connection with the incident, which happened in Hove.

Footage of the attack, which happened on January 24, appears to have been shared on WhatsApp.

Digital analysis show the clip was downloaded from the messaging service at 3.15pm on Thursday, February 2, shortly after schools finished for the day.

On February 7, an anonymous letter arrived at The Argus containing a memory stick and a letter with the words “please see images” in block capitals.

The memory stick contained a video named after a secondary school in the city. There was no further information.

The footage, which The Argus has chosen not to publish in full, shows three teenage boys in hoodies surrounding another youngster.

After the boy is told to get on his knees, he is kicked in the face.

He then falls to the floor where he is kicked and stamped on several times.

Another boy, who was present at the time of the attack, is seen running from scene.

It is not known who filmed the video and the identities of the young people involved are currently unclear.

The Argus made attempts to establish exactly where in the city the incident took place.

Initial research suggests that it was recorded in an alleyway in Portslade, Hangleton or Patcham, north of the Old Shoreham Road.

The police were contacted and the footage was passed on to an officer to investigate.
