Fatboy Slim has revealed a new collaboration with a popstar on one of his biggest hits.

The Hove DJ, whose real name is Norman Cook, announced he has teamed up with Rita Ora for the single Praising You, which is a rework of his cult anthem Praise You.

To be released in March, the single is just one of the many things the acclaimed DJ is up to in 2023.

This year has already been a busy one for Norman, with the release of a feature-length programme on Sky Documentaries marking the 20th anniversary of the Big Beach Boutique II party on Brighton seafront - which saw around 250,000 people descend on the city - international performances and his upcoming UK tour in March.

“It’s all rather busy at the moment,” he told The Argus.

“Since lockdown I realised, I loved my job so much.

“I missed it. So, full speed ahead.

“Lots and lots of shows.

“I’ve got a little collab with Rita Ora called Praising You, which is reworking Praise You.

“That’s her next single which comes out in March.

“Then we’ve got the UK tour in March.

“It’s mainly shows, I haven’t got any more documentaries up my sleeves at the moment.”

Fatboy Slim spoke to The Argus following his guest appearance on new podcast Rockwater.

The 59-year-old is looking forward to his two dates at the Brighton Centre on March 16 and 17 as part of his UK tour and reflected on his “long history” with the building.

“I didn’t think we could have fun in the Brighton Centre,” he said.

“I’ve deliberately not performed at the Brighton Centre before but then I wanted to do a party for the NHS workers after the pandemic and it seemed like a suitable venue.

“We had untold fun in there.

“I have history with that venue.

“I graduated there in the Middle Ages, I’ve been to numerous gigs and record fares there, I got vaccinated there twice.”

Norman’s focus will also be on his latest project All Back to Minehead, which saw him bring the three-day festival to Butlin’s Minehead for the first time last year.

“For me the main focus is All Back to Minehead in November,” he said.

“It’s curating my own indoor three-day festival of music, nonsense and love.

“It’s given me a new lease of life just when I didn’t think at this stage of my career I could.

“Putting together a whole weekend of entertainment has been very rewarding.

“I’m looking forward to doing that again.”
