Fatboy Slim has revealed who he would like to see headline Brighton Pride.

There has been much speculation about who could headline the event with rumours flying about big names including Rihanna.

More than 300,000 people participate in the “carnival of diversity” every year, with organisations from charities, universities, public services and businesses all invited take part in this year’s parade.

The parade will set off from Hove Lawns at 11am on August 5.

Last year’s headliner was Christina Aguilera and previous years have seen stars including Britney Spears and Paloma Faith take to the stage of the festival in Preston Park.

The Hove DJ, whose real name is Norman Cook, has now had his say on the matter.

He spoke to The Argus following his guest appearance on new podcast Rockwater.

“Lizzo and Beyonce doing a back to back with Fred Again..now that would be a show,” he said.

“With my son opening for them.”

Norman’s 22-year-old son Woody got into DJing when he went to university.

The passion for DJing is also shared by Norman’s 13-year-old daughter Nelly.

Norman said he feels more nervous watching his children perform than when he does.

“It’s not something I encouraged,” he said.

“My son didn’t start DJing until he left home and moved to Bristol.

“All the way through his life I’ve said do you fancy DJing? And he was like no I’d always be in your shadow.

“But when he went off to university, he immediately took up DJing.

“With Zoe and I as parents it’s no surprise they’ve both shown a flare for showbiz because they’ve grown up in a showbiz family.

“Not something I intended but something I’m enjoying.

“Every now and then I’ll do a show with Woody.

“And the Camp Bestival thing that Nelly did was just beautiful as a dad.

“Quite nervy though I get more nervous watching my kids DJ than I do myself.”

Fatboy Slim will perform at the Brighton Centre on March 16 and 17 as part of his UK tour.
