Pride organisers are offering people on low incomes discounted tickets due to the cost of living crisis.

Brighton Pride have introduced a new low-income ticket scheme for people who want to attend the Preston Park festival but cannot afford to do so.

The tickets will offer a 50 per cent reduction on the cost of a full-price general admission ticket and are restricted to Brighton and Hove residents.

The scheme will allocate tickets on a first-come, first-served basis, with people having to complete a short application form on their website to be able to purchase one of them.

A spokesman for Brighton Pride said: “We are committed to remaining affordable and accessible for residents of the city of Brighton and Hove.

“Our low-income ticket scheme aims to ensure we are inclusive for all people, so those on a low income have the opportunity to enjoy our events.”

To qualify for the scheme, people have to provide evidence that they receive Universal Credit, Working Tax Credit, Job Seekers’ Allowance or Pension Credit.

Those who earn below an annual full-time salary of £19,000 can also contact Pride organisers by email at tickets@brighton-pride.org, with each request looked at on an individual basis.

Previous headliners for the Pride festival in Preston Park include Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Kylie Minogue.
