Earlier this month, online entertainment page Give Us The Goss claimed the Barbadian singer was “confirmed” to headline the first night of the Preston Park festival, with an “official announcement expected after her Super Bowl performance”.

However, the singer instead revealed her second pregnancy.

The announcement by Pride organisers comes just weeks after the theme of this year’s Pride parade was revealed, with participants urged to “dare to be different”.

Brighton is the UK’s biggest Pride festival, with all ticket revenue going directly towards community fundraising and the operational costs of the event.

Pride weekend attracts as many as half a million people to the city every year, with the event raising over £1.2 million for the Brighton Rainbow Fund, Pride Cultural Development Fund and Pride Social Impact Fund, which helps fund a range of LGBTQ+ groups and organisations.

Tickets to the festival are available via the Brighton Pride website.
