An animal rescue centre has crowned the winner of its animal lookalike contest.

Keith Chilvers won the Raystede competition for his resemblance to his 11-year-old chihuahua, Hunter.

Comedian Zoe Lyons, who judged the entries, chose Keith due to his “matching facial fur”.

Zoe, who has featured on TV shows such as Mock The Week, said: “The top award has to go to Keith Chilvers and his wee dog. What smashing matching facial fur they have.

“I know that small animal centres and charities are still struggling so it is lovely when people come together to support them.

“A huge well done to all that entered and there are some rather startling similarities between you and your furry friends.”

Pet owners who entered included those with cats and dogs as well as lizards and rabbits.

Keith and Hunter, pictured side by side, have matching long beards.

Keith, who has supported Raystede, near Ringmer, for many years, will receive a personalised portrait of his pet.

Raystede animal centre is a charity which aims to care for and rehome animals such as dogs, cats, horses, hens and exotic birds, caring for around 400 animals each day.
