Sussex could be covered in a dusting of snow as a cold front is expected to bring plummeting temperatures next week.
BBC Weather has predicted wintry conditions coming to Brighton into March.
Long range forecasts suggest there will be flurries of snow and sleet on the evening of Tuesday, March 7.
These will continue into Wednesday, March 8 and later into next week.
According to the Met Office's long-range forecast for the South East in general, "spells of rain and snow are likely at times" over the next few weeks.
There may be some disruption to travel as the temperatures stay low into the latter half of next week.
The temperatures will remain under five degrees and overnight frosts are likely.
In its long range forecast, the Met Office said: “There is a small possibility of more organised rain or snow spreading southwards, with the west and northwest most likely to remain under a settled regime.”
The national weather forecaster said there is a “small possibility” that sleet and snow, combined with stronger winds, will become locally disruptive.
Overall, conditions are likely to be mixed, the forecaster said.
