The opening date of a new Nando's restaurant has been confirmed.

Nando’s has revealed it will open its new site in Worthing on March 27.

The company’s website states: “Spice incoming. We’re opening on 27th March.”

In January, Nando’s branding could be seen in the windows of the unit in the town’s Montague Centre.

Nando’s has applied to Worthing Borough Council for a premises licence to permit the sale of alcohol for consumption on and off the premises Monday to Sunday 11am till midnight, as well as the provision of late night refreshment between 11pm and midnight Monday to Sunday.

In August, the South African company submitted plans for the installation of a plant to the rear service area including kitchen extract duct and five air conditioning units.

The application also sought to extend the hours of operation of the plant to 24 hours in order to “align with Nando’s occupation of the restaurant”.

“The proposed equipment is modern, efficient and will allow Nando’s to operate and function effectively,” planning documents stated.

“The proposals will not appear dominant or out of character within the surrounding area, nor harm the special interest of the conservation area. As confirmed by the submitted noise impact assessment, the proposals will not adversely impact on any surrounding amenities or well-being, nor will they detract from the historic interest of the wider conservation area.”

In 2021, plans for the change of use of the shop unit from retail to restaurant were approved.

According to planning documents, Nando’s will operate the restaurant at ground and first-floor level.

The unit comprises a small area at the front of the restaurant, which Nando’s proposes to use as an external seating area.

The popular chain serves a range of burgers, wraps and much more.
