A man suffered ‘serious facial injuries’ when he was attacked by a group of men outside a pub.

The man, 31, was punched in the face by the group at around 10.45pm on Friday in Surrey Street, Brighton.

His partner posted on Facebook saying that the man had been attacked outside The Railway Bell pub by a group of seven or eight men.

The woman, who The Argus is choosing not to name, said: “He’s now suffering from reconstructive injuries and surgery.

“After the bouncer stepped in he managed to get himself up, he then ran towards the end of Surrey Street.

“Before the ambulance arrived, there were two lads who helped him up, gave him water and waited for us to arrive. I have nothing but respect and thanks to these guys.
