A 70-year-old man was declared dead after a car crashed into a hedge.
Emergency services attended the collision on the A267 Mayfield Road between Lake Street and Wadhurst Road in Mark Cross, near Crowborough, just before 10am.
An air ambulance landed at the scene and went to Brighton shortly after 11am.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on the A267 Mayfield Road near to Mark Cross at about 10am on Thursday, March 16.
“Sadly, a 70-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
“A report will be prepared for HM Coroner.
“Witnesses or anyone with information about this collision should report it to Sussex Police online and quote Operation Texan, CAD 402 of 16/03.”
