A man was reportedly assaulted while sitting on a bench outside a shop after an attacker grabbed a weapon from his car.
The assailant was spotted leaving the Co-op store in Dorsten Square in Crawley before walking to his car and grabbing a weapon.
He then walked over and attacked the man sitting outside the shop shortly after 9.30pm on Thursday, April 13.
An appeal has now been launched to find a man in connection with the incident who was caught on CCTV inside the store.
The victim was treated for his injuries, but these are not thought to be life changing or life threatening.

Sussex Police have released a photo of the man, describing him as slim and aged between 25 and 40 years old.
He was pictured wearing a white tracksuit, white socks and Nike sliders.
A police spokesman said: “Anyone with information about the identity of the man police wish to speak with is asked to report it police online or call 101 quoting serial number 1443 of 13/04.
“Alternatively this information can be reported to the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
