The Chinese takeaway is a favourite for many seeking a hot and tasty meal.

And we set out to find your favourite.

The Argus launched the competition online and in the paper on January, 30 - and we received a huge number of nominations to take through to the voting stage.

From February 20 to March 19, The Argus asked you to vote for your favourite takeaway.

Singapore Kitchen, in Hove, is the latest recipient of the prestigious award - and the owner could not be more delighted.

Charlie Li has been a part of Singapore Kitchen for the last 30 years in Blatchington Road.

He said: "I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to The Argus for running the Your Favourite Takeaway 2023 competition, and to our loyal customers who nominated us for this prestigious award.  

"Winning the title is an incredible honour. We are humbled and grateful for the recognition and support that we have received from our customers.

"It is truly heartening to know that our efforts to provide exceptional food and service have not gone unnoticed."

The award champions the best of Chinese takeaways, and the team were awarded a trophy to show off.

Charlie added: "After 30 years of hard work, winning this award is a significant achievement for us, and we are excited about the positive impact it will have on our business. It will help us build our reputation and attract more customers who value quality and excellence.

"We will continue to work hard to maintain our high standards and provide an excellent experience to everyone who visits our takeaway.

"I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my team who have been with me for many years, without them the award would not have been possible.

"We look forward to continuing to serve you with the same passion and dedication that has earned us this recognition."
