Brighton: St Peter’s Church site transformed into pop-up festival

The site, at the grass area to the north of St Peter’s Church in Brighton, will be home to a new outdoor venue called Caravanserai.

So far, the area has been cordoned off with barriers, and work is underway to set up the venues.

Caravanserai will be at Brighton Fringe from Friday, May 5, when it will open from 4pm until 2am.

The “immersive world” is built out of repurposed caravans, with vintage fairground waltzers, where hoopla stalls and shoot-out galleries become bars.

The site, which will be free to enter, will have street food stalls, a dedicated family area for children, secret spots to be discovered and a Brighton Fringe box office.

Caravanserai opens its doors from the first day of Brighton Fringe on May 5, all the way to June 4.

Originally established at Camp Bestival, the pop-up festival site host Brighton Fringe events across its two theatre spaces, called Luna Parc and Junk Poets and its outdoor area, known as Under the Archway.

On site there will be food from Brighton restaurants Carlito Burrito and Social Board Sandwiches in the lounge area and drinks from Orange Beach Bars.
