A Breaking Bad star has posed in front of one of Brighton’s newest street artworks on a recent visit to the city.

Bob Odenkirk, who also stars as the title character in Netflix’s Better Call Saul spin-off, popped into a coffee shop when he admired the mural on their wall.

After getting chatting to the actor, the owner of the coffee shop described him as a “very nice guy”.

Andrea Petraglia, owner of Blend and Brew Café in Trafalgar Street, said: “I didn’t recognise him straight away but we chatted for more than 20 minutes.

“He was a very nice guy, and he loves Brighton, he said he first came here around 25 years ago.

“One of our staff was really chatty with him because he is such a massive fan of Breaking Bad.”

Bob has also featured in films such as The Incredibles after working as an actor for over 30 years.

The mural on the side of the coffee shop was painted at the beginning of April by street artist Ola Volo in partnership with Enter Gallery in Brighton.

The Kazakh-Canadian artist painted the mural over the space of four days and is her first work in the UK.

Her artwork depicts a female version of the joker playing card in red, white and black on the wall facing Brighton railway station.

She said: "I've turned the joker into this sassy, empowering and female character, which feels like it represents Brighton.

"My style is influenced by eastern European folklore. I grew up in Kazakhstan but I live in Canada, so when I bridge the eastern and western world together I'm trying to find a way of bringing traditional art to the streets but making it modern.”

"I want the art to feel like it belongs there. Hopefully it will be there in ten years for people to see."

Andrea added that he thought Ola was “very humble” and that the mural was “great for Brighton”.
