Police have revealed why there was a cordon up around a primary school last night.
Officers were at the scene at Southgate Primary School in Barrington Road, Crawley, last night.
A cordon was in place and witnesses were told to stay away from the school as a "serious incident" was unfolding.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "We received a report of malicious communications sent to Southgate Primary School on Thursday, April 27.
"Officers are investigating the incident and conducted a thorough search of the school and the wider area as a precaution.
"Nothing suspicious was found, and police will continue to work with the school and the local authority to establish the full circumstances of the communications."
