Albion will offer “one of the best” hospitality experiences in the country where fans can watch players in the tunnel - but it will cost you.

Brighton and Hove Albion’s Tunnel Club will aim to “take fans to the very heart of the match” by being able to see their footballing heroes in the tunnel through one-way glass while enjoying a five course meal.

People will dine as players walk out on to the pitch. The only other teams in the country to offer a similar tunnel club experience is Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Tunnel Club will cost £8,950 per person for a season, plus a founding member's fee of £2,500.

The minimum time you can sign up for is three years.

The experience includes panoramic views of pre-match activity, parking, an annual private training ground tour including meeting the players, exclusive entrance into the West Stand, an annual tunnel club away day and one “money can’t buy experience” per season.

People get in-seat service throughout the game with soft drinks, snacks and sweets.

There is also a "dedicated account manager" who provides personal service.

The membership includes all Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and friendlies.

It is understood there is scarce availability for the Tunnel Club since it was announced last month.

MasterChef: The Professionals winner Steven Edwards who owns Etch in Hove has designed the menu.

Russell Wood, head of commercial for the Albion, said:  “The Tunnel Club experience will elevate our hospitality to one of the best in the country and it was key that the menus reflected these ambitions.

“Steven is a fantastic chef who has a great reputation locally, not only for his food but his support of local causes and championing Sussex - I can’t wait to see what he has in store for our Tunnel Club members.”

Modifications were made to the stadium for the tunnel club during the World Cup break in November and December last year.

It will open for the start of the 2023/24 season and members may get to experience Albion playing in a European competition for the first time ever.

Albion will be offering premium, personalised and heated seats on the halfway line.

Members can look forward to British dishes with three options for starters, mains and desserts.

The menu has not been released yet but members can expect dishes such as Marmite bread with seaweed butter, slow cooked Trenchmore beef rump with poached and roasted salsify (root vegetable), salsify crisps and chicory jam.

Steven said: “As a local chef, it’s been fantastic to see the rise of Brighton and Hove Albion in the past few seasons and I’m beyond excited to be involved in The Tunnel Club experience.

“It’s a privilege that the club members will be enjoying dishes that I’ve created and I look forward to heading down to the home matches as often as I can to cheer on the team.”

The club has other plans to enhance the matchday experience for all fans including a pre-turnstile fanzone outside the Amex Stadium and an upgraded in-stadium sound system.

In his chairman’s statement, Tony Bloom said: “We want to ensure the Amex matchday experience remains one of the best in the Premier League, and we are continuing to innovate and improve.”
