Labour secured a majority on Brighton and Hove City Council for the first time in two decades in a landslide result.

The party now has 38 councillors, up from 16 before the election, with the Greens dropping from 20 councillors to just seven.

Among the Green councillors to lose their seats were the party’s leadership team, with deputy leaders Hannah Allbrooke and Siriol Hugh-Jones and council leader Phelim Mac Cafferty all ousted by Labour.
