A kite surfer has been saved after getting into trouble off the Sussex coast.

Lifeboat services were called to help the surfer who was spotted in the water near Worthing on Tuesday afternoon.

The volunteer crew were able to drag the kite surfer out of the water and into the boat before taking him back to dry land.

A spokesman for Littlehampton RNLI said on Twitter: “Our volunteer crew were tasked by Littlehampton Coast Guard to assist a kite surfer near Worthing.

“They headed to the scene in our Renee Sherman lifeboat and helped the kite surfer to shore.”
