Brighton has been named the second-best city in the UK for outdoor culture, a study has found.
The city ranks highly due to being one of the sunniest spots in the country as well as having high average temperatures and a high number of searches for outdoor activities.
Research found that the city is topped by only London for its “vibrant” outdoor culture and beats Bristol, Portsmouth and Southampton on the list.
According to data from Power Epos, Brighton has more than 300 bars or restaurants with outdoor seating as well as average temperatures of nearly 11 degrees.

It also has the highest average number of hours of sunshine per year of any of the cities within the top ten in the study.
Searches for outdoor events per month soared as high as in London with some 3,000 searches for things to do.
Richard Goodall, hospitality expert at Power Epos, said:“All of these destinations have something unique to offer visitors this year. There are so many smaller cities and towns that offer a different perspective outside of London and have also become big foodie spaces.”
