Two people have died and two others are fighting for their lives after a serious crash on the A29.
A 22-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were killed in the smash in Stane Street near Billingshurst.
The collision between a Skoda Fabia and a Renault Clio happened at around 9pm last night. A 23-year-old man and 19-year-old woman also suffered life threatening injuries.
Police say that the people’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Sussex Police Sergeant Ian Foxton said: “This is a tragic incident and I would like to express my sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of those involved.
“An investigation is ongoing to establish exactly what happened and we are asking anyone who can help with our enquiries to come forward.”

Emergency services attended the crash at around 9.10pm with the 22-year-old driver of the Skoda, from Dorking, and the passenger in the Renault, from Carshalton, both suffering fatal injuries.
The passenger in the Skoda, a 23-year-old man from Dorking, and the driver of the Renault, a 19-year-old woman from Billingshurst, were taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.
Sussex Police are now appealing for witnesses.
