Part of the A27 remains closed due to overrunning roadworks.
Resurfacing work along the highway was taking place overnight between the A26 near Lewes and the A2270 near Polegate.
While the westbound carriageway has reopened, contractors continue to work at the scene to complete roadworks on the eastbound carriageway.
It had been expected that the road would reopen by around 7am, but it appears it is still closed to motorists.
A signed diversion route is in place, with drivers advised to allow extra time for journeys.
