A new restaurant offering a "fresh take" on Indian street food and chai tea is set to open on the high street next month.
Chaiiwala, which offers a range of Indian snacks as well as chai tea, is coming to Brighton and will take up an empty unit on Western Road.
The restaurant, which will offer both hot food and drinks, has branches across the UK with plans to expand even further in the next two years.
Madhu Upparlapalli, the franchisee of the new restaurant, said: “I have restaurants across Brighton and Sussex but this is something completely different.
“It’s the right fit for Brighton. The core product is the Karak chaii that isn’t like anything you’ll find in any other shops.”
The Western Road unit is the first Chaiiwala in Sussex and only the second south of London.
A mock-up of the store shows a modern interior with wall paintings of trains in other landmarks including the Taj Mahal.
A counter service is offered with plants and lightbulbs hanging from the ceiling and tables dotted around the interior.
Muhummed Ibrahim, co-founder of the business, added: “If you have a proper desi chaii it takes 45 minutes to make, and we were determined to do it properly.

“When we went to market we thought, right, it doesn’t matter how much we have to throw away, we will keep making it properly until we get it right, and we have got it right, and essentially we’re brewing it up in the back of the shop.”
On the menu, the site includes several Indian snack food items including Mumbai Mac n’ Cheese and a vegetarian kebab roll.
The restaurant also includes all day Indian breakfast as well as a number of sweet options.
Chai tea is an Indian beverage throughout South Asia and is usually made of tea mixed with spices including cinnamon and cardamom.
The drink has been popularised in the UK after being offered in several coffee shops across the country.
Chaiiwala was first founded in 1927 in New Delhi but has now spread worldwide after a re-launch in 2016 with the first store in the UK in Leicester.
