Several Sussex towns have been named as some of the best places to retire to in England and Wales.
The life insurance team at Compare the Market researched 40 of the most populated coastal towns in England and Wales, ranking them by a range of factors including quality of life, cost of living, number of walking trails and the percentage of the population aged over 65.
Bexhill came sixth overall but was crowned as the UK’s seaside town with the best quality of life for pensioners.

The comparison site said the town offers the greatest quality of life for pensioners, with a score of 70, and also has a higher percentage of the population aged over 65 than anywhere else.
Bognor, Littlehampton and Eastbourne also featured on the list for best quality of life, placing fifth, seventh and ninth for quality of life.
Worthing came tenth overall on the best place to retire ranking.
