The future of one of pier’s most well-known amusement rides looks in doubt.
Thrill-seekers noticed that the Booster pendulum ride from Brighton Palace Pier disappeared in January and has not returned since.
References to the ride, which catapults riders 130 feet into the air and normally towers over the pier, were also removed from the pier’s website.
Brighton Palace Pier told The Argus in January that the ride was undergoing “major annual maintenance”.
However, a spokeswoman for Brighton Palace Pier said that a new Booster is not available to take its place for the summer season.

She said: “Large new rides take a long time to build so a new Booster isn’t available yet.
“We are looking at other options but nothing is decided yet.”
A temporary ride is set to be in place for next month “depending on transportation availability”.
“A new Booster or new large ride would take longer,” the spokeswoman said.
Among the pier’s other fairground rides include a traditional carousel, a helter-skelter, a haunted house ride and two roller coasters.
