Hundreds of nude bikers are expected to cycle through the city for the return of the annual Naked Bike Ride.

The event, the 17th to take place in Brighton, will see cyclists strip off at Preston Park, before pedalling seven miles around the city to the finish line at the naturist beach at Black Rock.

The bike ride, which coincides with other similar events across the world, celebrates car-free human-powered travel and calls for greater action on environmental and social issues.

The cyclists will travel around the city with sound systems, along with flags and banners with slogans highlighting the climate crisis.

A spokesman for the event said: “The ride aims to be celebratory, life-affirming and inclusive. “We will gather to decorate our bikes and our bodies, ready for a seven-mile ride around the city, ending at the naturist beach at Black Rock for a big splash.”
