If you’re looking for the perfect place to enjoy the summer sun, the seaside retreat of rock and roll legend David Gilmour is still up for sale.

The property, owned by the Pink Floyd frontman, was completed in 2020 but went on the market last year.

Located in King’s Esplande, Hove, Medina House is thought to be one of the most expensive homes in the city, with a price tag of £15 million.

The custom-built seafront mansion, designed by award-winning architect Keb Gavarito-Bruhn, replaced a former 19th-century bathhouse and incorporates the distinctive crow-stepped Dutch gables of the original building.

The property boasts stunning views out to the English Channel, as well as a state-of-the-art recording studio and five bedrooms.

A zen-inspired garden at the centre of the family home, landscaped by garden designer Arabella Lennox-Boyd, offers a great space to enjoy the warm weather.

If that wasn’t enough, the seaside escape also has its own wine store, gym, library, sauna, study and even an orangery.

Gilmour and his wife Polly recalled some of the memories they had at the property.

The couple said: “The main bedroom, with sea views in all directions, is a beautiful place from which to watch the sunrise and sunset across the sea.

“At night, it’s intoxicating to watch from bed the moon reflected in the water.

“When you wake up in the morning, the view is always a surprise: the sea and sky are never the same.

“It’s a huge advantage not to have a busy road and traffic between us and the sea.

“We love the drama of winter storms over the water and it is amazing to run across the beach to swim and hop back to the house for a sauna.”
