A new clothing store is set to open in Churchill Square.

Clothes retailer Mango will open its new branch on the west side of the shopping centre, between Foot Asylum and Schuh.

The space had been left empty after a Christmas pop-up vacated the unit in January.

The Spanish fashion giant announced the opening of the Brighton store as it unveiled its plans for 13 new branches in the UK in the second half of this year.

Mango has already opened new stores in Solihull, Bristol and Leeds this year.

Alongside the 470 square metre store in Churchill Square, Mango will also open branches in Milton Keynes, Glasgow and London.

"The UK is one of the priority markets for Mango's international growth," said Daniel López, director of expansion and franchises at Mango.

"Opening in cities we haven't yet been in and in some of the most important shopping centres in the country will consolidate the Mango brand and help us strengthen it internationally."

The new Mango stores will "incorporate the Mediterranean-inspired concept, reflecting the spirit and freshness of the brand".

The opening date for the Brighton branch has not yet been announced, but posters outside the unit say it is "coming soon".
