These are some of the adult-only campsites you can visit in Sussex this summer.

Sometimes you want to go camping without the noise of excited children.

There are surprisingly few adult-only campsites and glamping spots in the county and we have collated a list of some of those you can visit.

These sites allow you to enjoy the serene nature of Sussex surrounded by animals and beautiful views.

Furzefield Barn, Pagham, near Bognor

The first is Furzefield Barn in Pagham which offers a glamping pod or two tent pitches for up to six people.

The glamping pod includes a double bed, food preparation area and a sink. There is also internet access.

It is “perfect for peace and quiet and a connection with nature and wildlife”.

Guests who visit in the autumn and winter can see flocks of dark bellied brent geese.

Summer visitors can enjoy seeing swallows nesting in the barn every summer.

The site is near three pubs, beach and offers wifi and toilets.

It is also near Pagham Harbour and the local nature reserve "perfect for keen bird watchers and walkers or those wanting a day out at the beach”.

The glamping pod costs £65 per night and a tent pitch costs £15 per person per night.

The site includes showers and toilets.

Hastings 1066, Telham, near Battle

This small, independent campsite offers five grass tent pitches spread across two acres and two bell tents.

One of the bell tents sleeps up to six people, while the smaller one has room for two guests.

A bell tent costs £110 for two nights, while a tent pitch costs £10 a night.

The site is just a 15-minute drive from beaches at St Leonards and a 30-minute walk from Battle so guests will have plenty of choice for days out.

There is also a country pub opposite which is “perfect for evenings out enjoying a big meal and a couple of glasses of wine with just a short walk back to your pitch”.

The site is on a working smallholding which means campers can enjoy seeing the many animals including horses and chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys.

The site allows over-16s but because of the animals on the farm, no dogs are allowed in the camping area.

Idle Hours Owlsbury Park, Rotherfield, near Crowborough

Set on around three and a half acres, Idle Hours is an adults-only quiet site.

The site offers attractive and peaceful coarse fishing ponds stocked with carp, roach, tench and perch. The site welcomes dogs but urges people to keep them on leads while on site and remember to clean up after them.

The site welcomes anyone over the age of 25.

It includes toilets, hot showers and hot washing up areas.

The site costs £27 a night for one night and two adults.

Idle Hours is near shops and pubs which are around half a mile away.

Bonnington Farm Campsite, Billingshurst, near Horsham

Bonnington Farm is a certificated site which means it is for members only.

People who want to get access need to be part of the Camping and Caravanning Club.

The site is perfect for guests who want to “explore the South Downs from a selection of grass pitches that are away from the hustle and bustle on this peaceful, adult only site”.

There are four pitches with electric hookups available.

Bike hire is onsite and dogs are welcome.

There are three pubs within a three mile radius of the campsite.

Campfire Weekends, Eridge Green, near Crowborough

Campfire Weekends is a pop-up campsite that is open on weekends between June and August and welcomes anyone over the age of 21.

The site in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The site is surrounded by “sweeping views and bordered by woodland”.

It costs £13.50 a night.

Pitches are not allocated, meaning you're free to choose your favourite spot on the field. All pitches are on grass and for tents only "giving plenty of space and time to roam the countryside via the local footpaths and bridleways".

The site welcomes well behaved dogs and has toilets and showers.
