A man was knocked unconscious on a train to the city during a scuffle now being investigated by police.
The row erupted onboard a train from Blackfriars, in London, to Brighton at around 2.40pm on Saturday, June 24.
The man was travelling with his friends on a Thameslink train to the coast, when another man boarded the train and sat next to him before becoming verbally aggressive with the passenger.
He then punched the passenger in the head, knocking him unconscious and giving him a number of bruises and a perforated ear drum.
Officers investigating the incident have released a picture of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the attack.
They believe he could have information which could help their investigation.
A spokesman for the British Transport Police said: "If you recognise him, or have any information, please contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 370 of 24/06/2023.
"Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
