A combine harvester is said to have set fire to a field this afternoon.

The farm vehicle is understood to have set alight before the dry field beneath began to go up in flames.

Emergency services are responding to the incident in Lidsey Road, Bognor, at the moment.

A “large amount” of smoke is covering the A29 at Shripney Road and people are asked to stay away from the area.

People living nearby have been told to keep their door and windows closed.
