Trains are unable to run due to problems with the electricity supply.
Southern Rail said trains in the Lewes area are unable to run due to a damaged conductor rail.
It means services to Brighton, Eastbourne, London Victoria, Ore and Seaford are facing disruption.
The rail company made the announcement at 7.40am this morning.

A spokeswoman for Southern Rail said: “Our Network Rail engineers on site are working to resolve the issue.
“Initial investigations are complete, and it is believed the fault is due to damage to the conductor rail. Work to resolve this should begin shortly.”
People can use their tickets on Brighton and Hove Bus routes between Brighton, Lewes and Eastbourne.
A Network Rail spokesman said: "Our engineers have inspected the area and have identified damage to the conductor rail, which provides power to trains, south of Lewes station, near the bridge over the River Ouse.
"The next step is for our team to understand the extent of the damage and plan a repair.
"We’re sorry for the disruption this is causing to services in the South and the coast. Please continue to check journey information with Southern Rail over the course of this morning while we carry out our repairs to the railway."
Update: The problem was fixed by around 11.40am and trains are now running normally through the area.
