A warning for high winds has been issued for the city this weekend as Pride celebrations get underway.

The Met Office says people in Chichester and Brighton should expect “unseasonably windy weather” leading to potential power cuts and structural damage to “temporary structures”.

The yellow weather warning is in place on Saturday (August 5) between 6am and 9pm.

Officials warn there will be a “disruption to outdoor activities” as wind gusts reach up to 42mph.

There will likely be delays to public transport while those driving high-sided vehicles should take particular care on routes exposed to winds.

As with all warnings for wind, people are reminded to take extra care on the shoreline.

There is also a 70 per cent chance of rain on Saturday between 10am and 7pm.
